2006 Accomplishments

Here's a list of things I would like to accomplish in some form or another - maybe not totally complete but at least have improved upon a bit by the end of the year. The list is in no particular order.

  • read more (which means lots more trips to the bookstore!!!)
  • spend more time with family - be a better mother and wife
  • learn php
  • blog more
  • less useless TV watching (that will be hard - LOL)
  • listen to the wisdom of youth and learn from the wisdom of the more mature
  • don't spread computer time too thinly - focus better
  • try harder in keeping house (I totally suck at it)
  • cook more meals - less eating out
  • give hubby more space and time to be alone
  • become personally organized - declutter BIG TIME!!!!
  • learn more about who I am and how I fit into the scheme of things
  • delve more into the postmodern/emerging christian/church
WOW! Quite the list eh? I've already started to blog more, so hopefully that will continue on throughout the year.

Lol, thats quite the heavy list, but alot of good improvements and choices that i think most people could agree on (especially the less watching of T.V....yikes.)I haven't ever tried very hard at the new years resolutions. All in all i think it's a great idea, and alot of the time it does good things for people. although, i do think what you get out of a new years resolution depends on what you put into it. I don't know why i've never seriously tried a new years resolution, other than i've never invested any serious thought into it. I guess i try to make changes constantly, instead of making it a yearly project, not for any particular reason, i'm just too impatient to wait for new years, lol.

Best of luck with your resoulutions!

That's an ambitious list. Last year for a New Year's resolution I decided that I would stop eating in my car. Within a few weeks, I decided it was better to eat than keep New Year's resolutions. What I should have resoluted (is that a word) was to prioritize what I am doing so I could live a more healthly lifestyle. This year I have found that I have added to my list of things that I would like to do and with my life a year shorter, I pray I can finally prioritize so I am not giving lip service to what I really believe is important.

Blessings on accomplishing what you have written on your list.

I'm not really into New Year's resolutions either. I just thought it would be neat to post a list of things to accomplish that way when I'm looking for something to work on, I can see them more easily.

If I don't accomplish my list, I'm not going to fret over it - I should have added one other thing - not to feel guilty over not meeting my accomplishments. LOL

I'd really like to make room in my schedule to write some of the book I have burning in me to write.

And I also want to encourage children and young people to pursue whatever it is that they have burning in them to do. It's my hope and prayer that there will be many more adults who will be about loving, teaching and encouraging children and young people. They are the church of today.

I expect that these two goals will take up much of my year.

I think it is cool that you respond to comments on your blog.

Blessings,
Lynda
